On 17 November, a cleanup effort will take place in the village of Barabash near the borders of Land of the Leopard National Park. Park employees and volunteers will remove rubbish from the turn to the Leopard's Lair eco-trail.
A significant part of the national park and the Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve is located near a busy road. Some drivers are careless, tossing out cigarette butts which often start fires and fly dumping near the road. The most waste appears in the summer, so cleanups are held in the autumn.
The participants will gather at 11 am near the visitor centre of Land of the Leopard National Park at 6B Khasanskaya Street in the village of Barabash.
There volunteers will receive gloves and the necessary equipment. After the cleanup, the participants can enjoy herbal tea and watch the film Leo80: A Leopard's Story. They will also be able to walk the Leopard Trail tourist route.
