The Zelyonaya Zarnitsa camp games took place at Land of the Leopard on 7 October, bringing together 14 teams of school students from the Khasan and Nadezhdinsky districts of Primorye.
Children showed their strength and agility in a zip line competition, rucksack packing, and providing first aid to and moving of an "injured tourist." They also showed off their knowledge about what to do or what not to do in a forest, which items are not welcome there, how to build a fire properly and why rubbish must not be left behind there.
"The camp games give children a wonderful opportunity to apply their knowledge about nature that they receive during classes at Land of the Leopard. This format allows them to be closer to the forest, to show their skills and learn new things," said Yulia Burkova, a leading expert at the environmental education department at Vorontsov Land of the Leopard.
According to the organisers, such sports competitions are a good way to test the environmental awareness of those who live near Land of the Leopard.
