On 30 August, Viktor Bardyuk will begin his work as head of the Joint Administration of the Kedrovaya Pad State Biosphere Reserve and Land of the Leopard National Park.
Viktor Bardyuk was born on 16 December 1968 in Khabarovsk. He has a degree in biology from Far Eastern State University (Vladivostok). Since 1999, Viktor Bardyuk has worked in nature conservation agencies in the Khabarovsk Territory. Since 2013, he has served as deputy minister — head of the Natural Resources Management Directorate of the Khabarovsk Territory Ministry of Natural Resources. He is fluent in English.
For many years, Viktor Bardyuk has been in charge of preserving the biology and landscape diversity in the south of Russia's Far East. He participated in national and international forums on big cat conservation and took part in Russia-China cross-border nature conservation cooperation. He also attended the national conference of nature reserve and national park managers in Vladivostok. Mr Bardyuk has been involved in constructive cooperation with public organisations that work to protect Amur tigers and Far Eastern leopards. His appointment was supported by the Far Eastern Leopards autonomous non-profit organisation.
