Pogranichny (Frontiersman) is a native of Land of the Leopard. He has been known to scientists since 2008. His territory is in the northern part of the national park, five kilometres from the state border, which explains his name.
Pogranichny has been observed not only during photo monitoring but also as part of a study involving radio tracking collars. The collar makes it possible to track the movements of an individual animal, identify the size of its territory and obtain other valuable information. Judging by photos, Pogranichny got free from his collar in December 2013, so now he can only be tracked by cameras.
