The long-standing partnership between Vladivostok International Airport and the Land of the Leopard National Park takes many forms. For example, the airport regularly hosts leopard photo exhibitions. When airport employees were asked to choose a name for a leopard cub, they picked Khors, after the pagan sun deity, explaining their choice like this: “This fine creature is worthy of its name – not to mention his sunny colour. The root 'khor' is present in Russian words such as 'khorosho' (good), 'prikhorashivatsya' (to preen), etc. The word 'khors' means solar disk in several languages."
