The Rossiya Airlines aircraft that sports the face of the Far Eastern leopard on its nose has made its debut flight from Moscow to Vladivostok. The leo-craft arrived in Vladivostok on 3 March and was welcomed by representatives of Rossiya Airlines and Land of the Leopard.
Tatyana Baranovskaya, director of Land of the Leopard, noted the good timing of the leo-craft's debut and said that over 10 previously unknown adult leopards were spotted in the national park over the past year.
"The preliminary results of the 2016 monitoring again show that the population tends to grow. And now the growing spotted family has a new addition, a ‘flying leopard,' which will take to the sky to raise public awareness of nature preservation," Baranovskaya said.
The Rossiya Airlines Boeing 777-300 aircraft received a unique design to support rare animal conservation. The portrait of the leopard is hand-painted aerography art. The project was implemented together with the Far Eastern Leopards autonomous non-profit organisation.
